[ARCHIVED] Dog Licenses

All dogs are required to display a current annual license/tag, due January 31, 2020. Licenses go on sale in November for the upcoming year. Renewals went on sale January 1 and are sold at the County Treasurer’s Office. The Treasurer mails a reminder notice to all citizens who purchased a dog tag in the previous year.

An individual dog license is $6, twenty (20) dog kennel tags are $25, and fifty (50) dog kennel tags are $35. Dangerous dog tags must be approved by the Animal Control Office before being purchased.

In order to purchase a license, the owner must present proof of a current rabies inoculation for the dog that is valid through the date of purchase. This year’s Rabies Clinic is scheduled for Saturday, January 25, 8:30-11:30 a.m., New Kent Courthouse Parking Lot.
